Urban Outfitters: Eclectic

Urban Outfitter's fall catalog can be described in two simple words...FREAKIN COOL!  Its so eclectic and just COOL!  I'm short on words to describe it...you be the judge!

I'm sexy and I know it.

Man I am LOVING the cone hat!!!

Lingerie in the woods...ain't nothing sexier, am I right?

The fact that this was developed in black and white makes it that much better.

I would so rock pants like the ones on the left...they'd go perfect with the leopard print booties on the right.

wfall_catalog1.jpg (653×393)
I rarely find a shot that does both the clothes and the setting justice...this one fits the bill.

wfall_catalog19.jpg (653×393)
Pink hair, shredded sweater, a yacht...need I go further?

wfall_catalog18.jpg (653×393)
SWEET BABY JESUS!  I'm off to my closest 99 cent store to buy me a yellow beanie!!!!

wfall_catalog17.jpg (653×393)
Miniskirts and long sleeves.  Contradictory, but it works.

wfall_catalog16.jpg (653×393)
Its been decided...when I'm a grandma I'm dying my hair this exact shade of pink.

wfall_catalog15.jpg (653×393)
Hmm, I have two pieces in my closet that look just like this...*flashing lightbulb*

wfall_catalog14.jpg (653×393)
Darn it!  I saw a jacket just like the one on the right at the thrift store the other day and I didn't get it!

wfall_catalog13.jpg (653×393)
I am so loving the 90's vibes in the shot on the left.

wfall_catalog9.jpg (653×393)

I see somebody decided to jump on the Lady Gaga teacup bandwagon.

wfall_catalog6.jpg (653×393)
I've now found the way to make boho-chic work in the fall.

We end this post with the best shot of them all....just look at that snarl!

Fashion Wishes Do Come True

You may be wondering what wish of mine came true.  Get ready for story time people!  If you read my previous post you know that I went thrift store shopping today.  I went and got like fifteen chunky knit sweaters for $30 (don't be jealous of my awesome bargain shopping skills!).  The fact that I got so many sweaters made knits, crochet, and yarn the topic of the day in my fabulous little brain.  I have SUCH a weird imagination as you probably already figured out.  Obviously my brain went crazy while I was in the shower two hours ago and before I knew it I was thinking about how much I love leggings and how I've never seen knit leggings, and how awesome they would look with lace (my English professor would be so proud of my grammar skills).   Lo and behold, my wish for this awesome combination came true!  How you may ask?  Through a post on the Spanish Moss blog http://www.shopspanishmoss.com/blog/?p=13239.  I was doing my usual blog rounds like 15 minutes ago and the first thing I saw was the exact combination I'd dreamt of in the shower....here it is!  Miracles do exist!!!!!!

I know this isn't paired with lace, but here are the exact knit leggings I'd pictured.
And those leggings would look so damn avant-garde with this little lace dress!

Short post, I know, but I had to share my super-epic supernatural fashion experience with you guys.  Good night people!  Have sweet fashion dreams!!!!

Menswear and Lingerie

My style varies from adrogynous one day, to completely frilly and feminine the next day.  Today I was feeling a bit confused, in between...and this editorial from Russh magazine totally inspired my outfit this morning.  It also gave me the insane urge to get a pixie cut (not a good idea, I need my hair for warmth now that its freakin 60 degrees....i know that's hot for you people on the East Coast, but hey, I'm a wimpy California Girl!)  Eliza Cummings by Nick Dorey...feast your eyes on the awesomeness!

Man's sweater, woman's lingerie....oh the confusion!

Gloriously messy tresses.

Ok this one has no menswear, no man would wear a silver sparkly sweater.

After posting this picture, I totally Googled how to DIY a shirt like this.  On my to-do list!

If only I looked this good in white pants, if only, if only.

I'm so inspired now.  Ugggh, I didn't want to have to do this, BUUUTTT....I'm off to the thrift store to release my inspiration, and buy $200 worth of clothes (that's a LOT at a thrift store, I'm gonna have to make the cute cashier help me take it to my car...yeah, that's how I get my dates, don't judge.)  Have a fashion-filled day!  <3

Free People: Always Inspiring Me!

Free People is a brand that never ceases to impress me.  I find myself dying to have glance at their new lookbooks.  Sometimes, when I'm out of money I look through the stuff that they have on sale anyways JUST to be inspired to put together new and eclectic outfits.  There's always something so magical about the brand.  I can tell that so much effort goes into making every outfit in the lookbooks "perfectly imperfect".  If you don't know about the brand, check out some of the great shots I found on the site......

Miles of Lace Dress
Somehow, this works...they make even the craziest combinations WORK!

lucy-lu
The photographer did such an amazing job...the colors are just incredible!

This reminds me of a top my grandmother used to have.

Rockville Sweater Dress
This is the kind of homeless person I'd like to be

Totally reminds me of Angela's style in "My So-Called Life"

Cropped Fairisle Pullover
My dad has one of these sweaters...consider it officially missing, Daddy!
Lace Curtain Top
This is such a simple, go-to outfit

Look a lot like Gillian Zinser's style (that I LOOOVEE...hmmmm I should post about her sometime)

Gatwickk Boot
Must purchase these soon.

Grandma-chic....my favorite style!

This is such a perfect party dress...not too sexy, but just as entrancing.

The brand is a bit on the pricey side, so if you can't buy the items at least take some inspiration from the gorgeous outfits their stylists put together.  That's what I do when my online orders have left me broke!  Go check out their site, maybe you'll see something you simply MUST HAVE!  http://www.freepeople.com/

New Addiction: Nasty Gal Blog

I have had a love affair with Nasty Gal (if you don't know what that is you obviously live under a rock!), for like the past year.  Seriously, like 90 % of my financial aid money goes towards buying stuff from them, (financial aid is for living expenses related to college...to live I need to spend cash on bitchin clothes for class ok!!!!  Don't judge!).  Apparently I haven't been a real super-fan though, because I barely discovered that Nasty Gal has a FREAKIN BLOG!  I literally spent like 2 hours poring over all the posts and bookmarking all the inspiration (which was like EVERYTHING!).  So anyways, i just had to share at least one post from the blog, its so COOL!!!!

Lace, flowers...its a princess!!!

I'm so buying me a sofa like that.

Pink bra peeking out...SEXXAAYY

I love the setting here more than the outfit.

I'm in the process of DIY'ing some shorts like these.

<3

Trying to save for a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Litas....I'm still not sure if I'm gonna look too much like a hooker though.

VELVET BABY!!!!

Apparently God doesn't want me to have a pair of these leather shorts...I cannot find them ANYWHERE!!

Love da hair!

I vow to make these my 105th pair of shoes.

It was so hard to choose this post...I wanted to share everything with you guys!  But go on the Nasty Gal Blog and check it out for yourself  http://blog.shopnastygal.com/

Lady Gaga: You and I

Now we all know that I'm a GIGANTIC fan of Gaga.  Truly she's the best thing to come along since The Beatles (that's just MY opinion though, I know a lot of people think this is far from the truth).  Anyway, I always do reviews of the looks she sports in her new videos.  I hadn't done a review for "You and I", not because I didn't have time, but because, its a video that is so difficult to describe.  I guess I needed time to take it in and give my opinion on it.  So here are some of my favorite stills from the video....

The video begins with this look.  Part funeral, part robot, part businesswoman.  Gaga, that's what I love about you, you always leave me pleasantly confused!

We can't forget the now iconic, dirty, bloody feet.  Gaga walked all the way from New York to Nebraska for her cool guy, and she's not leaving with out him!

Nymph Gaga.  This is the prettiest look I've seen her with.

The dance number in the cornfield.

The piano in the middle of the cornfield.  Only the Lady could come up with an idea like this one.
Gaga macking on her alter-ego Jo Calderone....OH YEAH!

She looks surprisingly hot as a man.

SOOO PRETTY!

When I first saw the video, this was one of the shots that most impressed me.  I swear, Gaga has like the best makeup team EVER!  Yuyi came to life beautifully!

GILLS...SCALES...enough said.

Mermaid sex...no matter how much I ponder upon it, I can't figure out how the hell its done.

She's wrapped like a sandwich.

This one, I really didn't get the concept of.

Gaga should go back to being a brunette, it suits her.

The experiment of love.

With Gaga there always has to be a big dance number.  Here it is, with her crazy, sexy outfit and her aqua hair.

If someone can pull off being eyebrow-less, its Lady Gaga.

And the video ends with this shot.  She marries the love of her life in her mother's wedding dress.  So romantic!

If you haven't watched the video, please go on to YouTube and watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9YMU0WeBwU&ob=av2e . Its one of those videos that keep your full attention during the entire 5 minutes.  Tell me what you think in the comments below!
