That 70's Editorial

I know that this trend is soon to pass, but I'm still in love with the 70's.  I'm guessing that after this fall, it'll be pretty much over, considering how quickly the fashion industry changes its mind (let's hope its not over though!). Anyways this is one of my favorite 70's inspired editorials, that appears in Vogue Paris September 2011 and features Anja Rubik.

The colors in this image are absolutely astounding.

This shot combines so many of my favorite things:  peacock, sheer material, fur, western shoewear, denim, and vests.....its like the story of my closet!

Wow, more of my favorites:  white, and rompers!

There's something so magical about this one.

I really wish my living room looked like this!

I know that my focus should be on the outfit, but I can't stop gawking at the gorgeous backdrop....

Once again...loving the living quarters.

Its like a weird combination of Russian and American.  The hat and cape:  very Russian.  Denim and cowboy boots?  American.

Boho-Russiamerican-Chic?

Faux-fur!!!!

Fringe, fringe, FRINGE!!!!!

Denim and Swimming

I am a complete sucker for denim!  I think I own like 50 pieces in my closet that are denim...from jeans to rompers.  When I saw this editorial, I ADORED IT!  Pairing bikinis and swimwear with denim is so cute!  Its an editorial that's inspired me to do that when I go to the beach!!!
The model in this editorial is Jessica Hart for Foam April /May 2011, and shot by Hilary Walsh.

The lighting here is superb, Hilary did a great job with that.  I have a denim shirt just like that!!!

Is that one of those onesies mechanics use?  So chic!!!

Now I know a lot of people are really mean and probably criticize Jessica Hart for her tooth gap, but I think its adorable!  It makes her unique!

Photgrapher and model:  PERFECTION!!!

Now THIS is a look I definitely want to try at the beach!

American Woman

I know that this isn't the normal time of the year to feel patriotic or anything....but for some weird reason I am.  I started feeling that way when I heard a song I hadn't heard in the longest time, "American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz.  Well anyway it got me thinking and I felt like that song really fit in with a lot of pictures I'd been saving on my laptop recently.  They all had in common one thing....DENIM!   Now WHAT could be more American than denim????  Anyway here are all the pictures and also the song that inspired me to feel all patriotic and stuff in the beginning of February ( I know, I know I'm like 5 months off on this!)

So please tell me what you think about the post!  Thanks in advance!

A Double Sense Experience

Oh my goodness....I have been m.i.a for MONTHS!!!!!!  Ok I definitely need to get back into blogging.  It seems that all I have been doing in the past three months is reading OTHER people's blogs but doing absolutely nothing with mine.

Anyways, one thing I have been doing is working on some....how should I call them?  Moodboards-slash- scrapbook-slash collage sort of things.  And I was inspired to make them because I'm always bookmarking images I like, and I listen to music while I look at all those images in editorials and advertising campaigns.  So basically, a song is what inspired me to make this....and you get to listen to the music while you look at the little project I made. The song "Rhythm of Love" by the Plain White Tees inspired me to make this moodboard.  For some reason to me this song should have been playing in the background when these images were shot.  Yes it might seem weird....but let's see if this can be a two sense experience...sight and sound.  Let me know if you like it please (or if its just crazy????)!  I would LOVE to hear your comments!

I find images everywhere, so if these are your images and you would like credit for them or want me to take them down, feel free to let me know!

Random and Inspired

This being the first blog post I decided to start off with one of my main sources of inspiration...Bambi Northwood- Blyth.  Great model, and she's always styled in such interesting ways for the editorials she's in.  Not your typical model, with her dark yet innocent looks, Bambi is a refreshing thing to look at.
The other thing that I'm currently obsessing over is anything and everything denim.  I know that it's fall  and denim shorts and a denim crop top aren't the most comfortable things to wear now, but I love them.  I cannot wait for spring to try out the denim looks in the second and fourth images!
What are you obsessing over? Leave your comments please!
